 TOWN PLANNER
 
TOWN OF PLYMOUTH, NH: This position offers an exciting opportunity for a planner seeking a breadth of experience. Plymouth, a town with a population of about 6,000 residents and Plymouth State University students, functions as a regional center in central New Hampshire. With it’s convenient location between the lakes region and the White Mountains, an abundance of cultural, educational and recreational opportunities are available in close proximity. The position responsibilities include:
 
•  Coordinating all community planning, zoning and economic development activities for the Town;
 • Updating the Town’s Master Plan and other long-range land use related planning studies;
 • Annually updating the Town’s Capital Improvement Program;
 • Assisting the Planning Board with their current planning activities. As a regional center, Plymouth has   experienced a considerable amount of commercial and residential growth recently.
 • Providing assistance to the Planning Board in crafting and amending local land use regulations;
 • Assisting the Zoning Board of Adjustment with their applications; and
 • Writing grant proposals and applications for other funding sources for the Town.
 • Providing “back-up” assistance to the Town Administrator and Staff
 
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Engineering, Public Administration or related field. Coursework and continuing education in advanced areas of planning, plus a minimum of two years of experience in municipal planning; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
