Environmental Planning

Environmental planning is a broad focus area and can support strategies, programs, and projects that strengthen and protect the natural and built environment. A healthy environment has a wealth of benefits, from trails for recreation to the scenic natural resources on which the region’s economy depends. It is through initiatives such as the Brownfields program, Household Hazardous Waste program, stream crossing assessments, and the promotion of efficient energy opportunities that we provide benefits to communities and the region.

Focus Area Scope

The Council can assist your community with completing natural resource inventories, conducting stream crossing assessments, and organizing community or regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection events.

Our staff can provide you with technical assistance in redeveloping brownfields and identifying funding assistance for specific projects such as energy efficiency improvements or particular studies of interest.
