NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA) – The Department of Business and Economic Affairs (DBEA) is comprised of the Divisions of Economic Development and Travel and Tourism Development. The divisions are dedicated to enhancing the economic vitality of the State of New Hampshire and promoting it as a destination for domestic and international visitors.
Division of Economic Development – The New Hampshire Division of Economic Development has resources for New Hampshire businesses looking to grow and prosper, as well as for businesses beyond our borders looking to expand or relocate. The New Hampshire Division of Economic Development is part of the BEA.
Division of Travel and Tourism Development – Visitor information, special events, and marketing from the Division of Travel and Tourism Development a part of the BEA.
Office of Broadband Initiatives – Part of BEA the Office of Broadband is developing a program that best reflects the intent of the Legislature and the needs of the state’s unserved and underserved broadband population, working in collaboration with municipalities, communication districts, and internet service providers (ISPs) to address these gaps and enhance the economic development.
Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development (ORID) – The addition of the Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development (ORID) was established to support New Hampshire’s diverse outdoor economy and connect our state’s world class outdoor assets to broad economic development strategies such as workforce and business recruitment. ORID is a part of BEA.
NH Economic Recovery and Expansion Strategy (ERES) – A 2020 plan developed to provide a roadmap for economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
NH Community Development Finance Authority (NH CDFA) – The NHCDFA supports building the capacity of New Hampshire communities to be strong, resilient, vibrant places through investments in people, institutions and systems. This includes the capacity to both proactively and reactively address social, economic and environmental challenges. On average, NH CDFA invests 20 million of financial resources through grants, loans, tax credit in support of municipalities, nonprofits and businesses throughout the state of New Hampshire.
NH Small Business Development Center (NHSBA) – SBDC’s dedicated team of certified business advisors delivers highly individualized, confidential advising at no charge to enterprises across New Hampshire, from the towns along the Connecticut River to the Seacoast to the North Country and every point in between. We offer entrepreneurial education through no-cost eCourses, live webinars such as Business Basics, and other programs. The SBDC annually impacts 3,000 small businesses and 200 New Hampshire communities.
New Hampshire Business Finance Authority (NHBFA) – NHBFA was created in 1992 to foster economic development and create employment in New Hampshire. The BFA accomplishes these objectives by working with New Hampshire’s banking, business, and economic development sectors to develop and implement programs that expand the availability of credit in the state.
UNH Cooperative Extension – UNH Extension works in four broad topic areas: Youth and Family Development, Community and Economic Development, Natural Resources and Food and Agriculture. UNH Cooperative Extension provides a variety of resources, programs, technical assistance and opportunities across their topic areas.
Economic Development Administration (EDA) – As the only federal government agency focused exclusively on economic development, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) plays a critical role in facilitating regional economic development efforts in communities across the nation.
Small Business Administration (SBA) – Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) continues to help small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream. SBA is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small business and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses
Department of Agriculture Rural Development Program – USDA Rural Development supports rural prosperity in New Hampshire by investing in modern infrastructure such as high-speed internet and water and waste treatment systems. USDA -RD program offers a variety of grant, loan, and technical assistance to communities, businesses, and individuals in rural areas.
